Optimizing Care for SpA Patients by Addressing Contemporary Challenges

Spondyloarthritis is a type of arthritis that attacks the spine, and sometimes the joints of the arms and legs. It can also involve the extra-articular sites, including skin, intestines and eyes. At this symposium, our distinguished faculty will discuss various topics related to the multifaceted nature of spondyloarthropathies.
Professor Chung-Tei Chou from the Taipei Veteran General Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan will review the multifaceted nature of spondyloarthropathy and the challenger in integrated management and clinical practice of extra-articular manifestations with other interdisciplinary specialists. Then, Professor Denis Poddubnyy from Charité University Hospital, Berlin, Germany will present on the radiographic progression of ankylosing spondyloarthritis (AS), the importance of treating early, and the evidence for radiographic inhibition by different agents. Professor Wen-Chan Tsai, the Symposium Chairman, from Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital, Kaohsiung, Taiwan will discuss and emphasize the complexities and feasibility to treat psoriatic arthritis (PsA) in daily clinic. Lastly, Professor Xu Huji, Shanghai ChangZheng Hospital affiliate to the Second Military Medical University, Shanghai, China will present the update of APLAR guidelines and the relevance to the clinical care. At the end of the presentations, the faculty will answer questions and comments from the audience.
