Nicola Dalbeth is a Consultant Rheumatologist and Professor of Medicine from Auckland, New Zealand. She is a Principal Investigator in the University of Auckland Bone and Joint Research Group. She leads a clinical and laboratory research programme, focusing on the mechanisms of inflammation and joint damage in gout. She has been principal investigator of commercial and investigator-initiated clinical trials in gout. She served as an Expert Panel member on the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Gout Management Guidelines, and has been a steering committee member for international gout research initiatives, including the OMERACT gout group, G-CAN gout nomenclature project, and the 2015 ACR/EULAR gout classification project.
